BUT WHAT IS A KATHI ROLL?

In 1932, a small eatery called Nizam's, located in Calcutta, India, created a dish that they simply named β€˜the roll’; chargrilled juicy meats and vegetables wrapped in a flaky paratha flatbread, drizzled with tangy chutney and topped with crunchy fresh salad. As word of this tasty creation spread through Bengal and beyond, the roll quickly became a national hit. The popular dish was dubbed the 'kathi roll', named for the wooden skewers the meat and vegetables were cooked on.
